‘m a non-native Nebraskan here for school. I applied to Nebraska because I am a Ted Head. Thus far, I’ve been too afraid to introduce myself to him, but I figure I’ll see him eventually. Maybe we’ll run into each other at the Nebraska Summer Writer’s Conference. He’ll be reading there. I’ll stand in back and hold up a lighter.
I plan on reading a lot of things this summer, but I’m offering only a small list here:
|
|
The Floor of the Sky by Pamela Carter Joern |
|
The Food and Cooking of Russia By Lesley Chamberlain |
![]() |
![]() |
The World Before Mirrors By Joan Connor |
|
Century of Locusts by Malika Mokeddem Translated and with an introduction by Laura Rice and Karim Hamdy |
![]() |
![]() |
Bruno Walter: A World Elsewhere by Erik Ryding and Rebecca Pechefsky |
I’ll start with Joern’s The Floor of the Sky, which is available from the University of Nebraska Press in September.
Besides discussing books and Mr. Ted Kooser (sightings and whatnot), I’ll use this space to speak on other issues. Feel free to let your opinion(s) known via the comments. In this way, we’ll share with each other. We’ll start our own exclusive summer reading club. What’s on your summer list?
