Author Events November 15 through November 21, 2007

From up here in my fourth floor office, autumn leaves blow by and tap on the window which, considering the height of the trees here in Lincoln, is odd.  I sit higher than most of the trees around the building!  The wind is very strong today, whipping the outside world around, forcing a wind advisory over much of the state.  It reminds me of travel — wanderlust, if you will.  That’s my thinking today with the author events, about traveling with books. . . it makes sense somewhere.

This week with author events, and each subsequent week, we’ll focus on bookstore visits, university visits, and other visits that are more accessible without registration or cost.  This is one of the brilliant ideas of Kristen, our newest blogger here at UNP, who has also brought us Tuesday Trivia and This Week in History.  So without more ado, here (boy, that wind is pretty fierce out there.  Auntie Em!  Auntie Em!) are the author events for the following seven days:

Joanne Wilke wrote about traveling women in Eight Women, Two Model Ts, and the American West.  She’ll be at the MSU Bookstore in Bozeman on Friday, November 16th at 11:00am for a reading and book signing.  On Saturday, she’ll appear at Fact and Fiction Books in Missoula for another reading and book signing at 1:30pm.  Read an interview with Joanne Wilke, just posted to our blog, here.

I Rose Like a Rocket
author Paul Grondahl will be signing copies at the Albany Borders on November 17 at 7:30pm.

Peggy Shumaker will read from and sign copies of Just Breathe Normally on Thursday, November 15 at the Burton Barr Central Library in Phoenix, AZ at 7:00PM.

Madah-Sartre writer and translator Alek Baylee Toumi will be at the University of Maryland, College Park on November 15 for a reading.  On Tuesday, November 20, he’ll be in Madison, WI at The French House at 7:00pm for a reading.

Laurie Powers, editor of Pulp Writer by Paul S. Powers, will be at Belmont Public Library, Massachusetts on November 15, 7:30pm.  She’ll be doing a reading and signing copies.

Author Aaron Raz Link will read from and sign copies of What Becomes You on Thursday, November 15 at
Washington State University in Pullman.
