March is the first month our spring season, and the University of Nebraska Press has more than a dozen new books out this month. You can visit the new titles page at the UNP web site for a full list of our March titles.
Among our new releases is In the United States of Africa by Abdourahman A. Waberi. This is a story in which Africa is a rich and powerful nation, and the Unites States, Canada and the Europe are third-world slums. It’s also the story of a young white girl, who was adopted as a baby by an affluent African doctor, as she searches for her birth parents.
I bring this up today because In the United States of Africa just received a very nice review from Open Letter/Three Percent. Translators David and Nicole Ball get a nice shout-out, too.
In more general publishing news, PW online reports that higher-ups at Kindle hope to sell a million of the e-reading devices by Thanksgiving.
