Frederick Jackson Turner Award
The Frederick Jackson Turner Award is given annually by the Organization of American Historians to the author of a first scholarly book dealing with any aspect of American history. The Grapes of Conquest (Nebraska, 2023) by Julia Ornelas-Higdon received an honorable mention.
Colorado Book Awards
Galloping Gourmet (Bison Books, 2023) by Steve Friesen is a finalist in the history category. The winner will be announced on June 21, 2024.
2024 PEN America Literary Awards
Boundless Deep, and Other Stories (Nebraska, 2023) by Gen Del Raye is on the longlist for the Robert W. Bingham Prize for debut short story collections. This award recognizes books that are “dynamic, diverse, and thought-provoking examples of literary excellence.”
