74th National Jewish Book Awards
The National Jewish Book Awards were established in 1950 by the Jewish Book Council as a way to honor exceptional works of Jewish literature.
The Triumph of Life (Jewish Publication Society, 2024) by Irving (Yitz) Greenberg is the winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Saying No to Hate (Jewish Publication Society, 2024) by Norman H. Finkelstein is a finalist in the Education & Jewish Identity category.
Between the Wires (Nebraska, 2024) by Waitman Wade Beorn is a finalist in the Holocaust category.



2024 Caroline Bancroft History Prize
The First Migrants (Bison Books, 2023) by Richard Edwards and Jacob K. Friefeld is the winner of the 2024 Caroline Bancroft History Prize. This prize is awarded by Denver Public Libraries to books of high literary quality which make significant and unique contributions to history with original research.
2024 CASEY Award
Mike Donlin (Nebraska, 2024) by Steve Steinberg and Lyle Spatz is a finalist of the 2024 CASEY Best Baseball Book of the Year Award. This prestigious award is given to the best book published about baseball in the previous year.
SABR Seymour Medal
The Seymour Medal is awarded to books which “significantly advance our knowledge of baseball” and are “characterized by understanding, factual accuracy, profound insight and distinguished writing.”
Lion of the League (Nebraska, 2024) by Larry R. Gerlach is this year’s winner.
Leave While the Party’s Good (Nebraska, 2024) by Lee C. Kluck is a finalist.


AALA’s Professional Scholarship Award
Between Soil and Society (Nebraska, 2024) by Jonathan Coppess is a recipient of The American Agricultural Law Association (AALA)’s Professional Scholarship Award.
2025 WCoNA Book of the Year Award
Homing (Nebraska, 2024) by Sherrie Flick is on the shortlist for the Writers Conference of Northern Appalachia’s Book of the Year Award. The award is given to books that embody the diversity and richness of northern Appalachia while highlighting complex issues.
Reading the West Awards
The 35th annual Reading the West Awards is held by the Mountains & Plains Independent Booksellers Association to highlight the best books in the region from the year prior. Voting opens May 1!
Wallace Stegner’s Unsettled Country (Bison Books, 2024) Edited by Mark Fiege, Leisl Carr Childers, and Michael J. Lansing is on the longlist in the nonfiction category.
The Boy Who Promised Me Horses (Bison Books, 2024) by David Joseph Charpentier is on the longlist in the memoir/biography category.


2025 Minnesota Book Awards
Dodge County, Incorporated (Bison Books, 2024) by Sonja Trom Eayrs is a finalist for the Emilie Buchwald Award for Minnesota Nonfiction. The winner will be announced April 22.
2025 Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award
The Gathering of Bastards (Nebraska, 2023) by Romeo Oriogun was a finalist for the 2025 Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award. The Tufts awards are given to promising poets in the middle of their careers to help them perfect their craft.
