Georgia Historical Records Advisory Council Awards

The Georgia Historical Records Advisory Council (GHRAC) created the Outstanding Archives Award Program in 2003 to recognize superb efforts in archives and records work in Georgia.

AAG Brinkerhoff Jackson Prize

The Brinkerhoff Jackson Prize rewards American geographers who write books about the United States which convey the insights of professional geography in language that is both interesting and attractive to lay readers.

Spur Awards

The Spur Awards are given every year by the Western Writers of America to celebrate notable writing about the American West.

The Sugar King of California (Nebraska, 2024) by Sandra E. Bonura won the Best Western Biography.

No Friday Night Lights (Bison Books, 2024) by John M. Glionna won Best Western Contemporary Nonfiction.

Mary’s Place (Bison Books, 2024) by Charlotte Hinger is a finalist for Best Western Contemporary Novel.

Compliments of Hamilton & Sargent (Bison Books, 2024) by Maura Jane Farrelly won Best Western Historical Nonfiction.

USGA Herbert Warren Wind Award

Established in 1987, the Herbert Warren Wind Award recognizes and honors outstanding contributions to golf literature. Named for the famed 20th-century American golf writer, the award acknowledges and encourages outstanding research, writing and publishing about golf.

The Wee Ice Mon Cometh (Nebraska, 2024) by Ed Gruver was on the Shortlist.

PEN America Literary Awards

The PEN America Literary Awards are juried by panels of esteemed, award-winning authors, editors, translators, and critics. These authors are committed to recognizing their contemporaries, from promising debut writers to those who have already had a continuous and lasting impact on the literary landscape.

Thanks for This Riot (Nebraska, 2024) by Janelle Bassett is on the Longlist for the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize for Debut Short Story Collection.
