The University of Nebraska Press and the Joslyn Castle Institute for Sustainable Communities will host a discussion of the new biography, Chuck Hagel: Moving Forward by Charlyne Berens, professor of journalism at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, on Thursday, October 26, 2006, 7:00–8:30 p.m., at the Joslyn Castle, 3902 Davenport Street, in Omaha, Nebraska.
Who is Chuck Hagel, what is his story, and is he a genuine player on the national political stage? In Chuck Hagel: Moving Forward, Charlyne Berens sets out to answer these questions in her close and careful look at one of the most interesting and independent figures on the current American political scene. This complex, plain-spoken Nebraskan may be on his way to the White House. Charlyne Berens explains why and how.
All are welcome at this free, public event. Professor Berens will lead a lively conversation about the book with participants and panelists Michael R. McCarthy, co-founder and manager of the McCarthy Group in Omaha, and Geitner Simmons, editorial page editor of the Omaha World-Herald.
