SCHOLARLY ILLUSTRATED
Modern Art at the Border of Mind and Brain by Jonathan Fineberg
Designer: Nathan Putens
Production Coordinator: Alison Rold
Acquiring Editor: Derek Krisoff
Project Editor: Ann Baker
“By putting the jacket copy on a belly band, I was able to keep the Dubuffet art almost entirely intact, which was a good match for the title as well as the proportion of the case.”—Nathan Putens
TRADE TYPOGRAPHIC
Sublime Physick by Patrick Madden
Designer: Nathan Putens
Production Coordinator: Alison Rold
Acquiring Editor: Kristen Elias Rowley
Project Editor: Sara Springsteen
“Most of the credit goes to Todd Stilson the cover artist, and the author Patrick Madden referred me to him. Pairing with this title, it makes a grand entrance to the book. It’s my favorite part and the main reason I submitted it.”—Nathan Putens
TRADE ILLUSTRATED
This Strange Wilderness by Nancy Plain
Designer: Nathan Putens
Production Coordinator: Alison Rold
Acquiring Editor: Alicia Christensen
Project Editor: Kathryn Owens
“Normally I would not use Tribute throughout an interior, since the text needs special kerning and ligatures which takes time. But since the typeface suits the content in its exotic old style, we went the extra measure on this.”—Nathan Putens
POETRY & LITERATURE
No Confession, No Mass by Jennifer Perrine
Designer: Nathan Putens
Production Coordinator: Alison Rold
Acquiring Editor: Kristen Elias Rowley
Project Editor: Sara Springsteen
“The author requested a graphic device to follow each invocation, I used a tear drop, which doubles as a candle flame.”—Nathan Putens
