The Vision Maker Film Festival begins today in Lincoln, Nebraska at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center. “We Are All Related” is the theme of the seventh biennial festival. It is a conceptual translation from the Lakota language—Mitákuye Oyás’iŋ—a commonly used expression indicating the Lakota’s relationships to each other and in the world.
The opening reception and presentation of the Frank Blythe Award for Media Excellence is today from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the University of Nebraska Van Brunt Visitors Center.
Films are shown today through Thursday, April 26. A full schedule of the screenings can be found here.
