This week UNP will be at the Western Writers of America convention in Tucson, Arizona.
Saturday morning at 10:30 join Bison Books author Robert Aquinas McNally as he moderates “Writing Outside the Lines” with panelists Julia Bricklin, Kristi Eaton, and Potomac Books author Katya Cengel:
Many Western genres are built around recyclable story lines that writers often incorporate without even thinking about what they are doing. So, what happens when stories draw writers in directions that lie outside the norm, ones that require them to break the mold and take an unconventional look at the material? Dare a writer even go there?
The discussion will be followed by a book signing with McNally and Cengel featuring The Modoc War: A Story of Genocide at the Dawn of America’s Gilded Age (Bison Books, 2017) and Exiled: From the Killing Fields of Cambodia to California and Back (Potomac Books, 2018).
