This year Heartland Fall Forum is in Cleveland, Ohio from Oct. 2-4. HFF is the premiere gathering place for those interested in independent bookstores throughout the Midwest. Hosted jointly by the Midwest Independent Booksellers Association and the Great Lakes Independent Booksellers Association. UNP will be on the trade show floor; see below for some highlights! Before the show officially starts, HFF is hosting a Cleveland bookstore tour on Wednesday including the following stores:
- Stop 1: Visible Voice Books
- Stop 2 Crust for lunch (located directly below Visible Voice)
- Stop 3: Appletree Books (with special appearance by Lise Funderburg with Apple, Tree!)
- Stop 4: Mac’s Backs: Books on Coventry
Wednesday, Oct. 2 – Opening Reception
Lise Funderburg is one of the twenty authors who will be signing books during the opening reception. Her new anthology, Apple, Tree, has been reviewed in Publishers Weekly, NPR, the Star Tribune, among others, and excerpts have also been featured on LitHub, Flavorwire, the Paris Review, the Washington Post, Gardner and Gun, and more.
Thursday, Oct. 3 – Trade Show Floor Open
From 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., come visit the UNP booth and see what new books are available and what’s to come this holiday season.
Friday, Oct. 4 – In-booth Author Signings
At 9:30 a.m. meet BJ Hollars and get a free signed copy of his newest book, Midwestern Strange. Hollars will also be participating in the Moveable Feast in the afternoon.
At 10:30 a.m. meet Martin Gitlin, Cleveland native and author of Kyrie Irving. Gitlin will also be signing free books and talking basketball, so bring your NBA questions for the new season!
