Author Events October 11 thru October 17, 2007

No rest for the wicked, or UNP authors, who will be out like midnight light bulbs this week. 

Frances Washburn, author of the novel Elsie’s Business, will be at the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, DC on Wednesday, 10/17/2007 for the Vine Deloria Jr. Native Writers Series.  At 12:00pm for an informal meet the author session and at 6:30pm for a reading and discussion followed by a reception and book series.

Poet Kathleen Flenniken (Famous) will be giving a reading and signing books for Johnson County Library’s The Writers Place series.  The event is in Overland Park, KS at 7:00pm, on Tuesday, 10/16. 

Charlotte Hogg will be here in Lincoln, NE reading from her book From the Garden Club.  She’ll be at the Jane Pope Geske Heritage Room of Nebraska Authors on 10/18 at 7:30pm for the Hohn H. Amers Reading Series.

Peggy Shumaker, author of Just Breathe Normally, has two events this round.  On 10/14, she will be at dedication ceremonies held by University of Arizona Poetry Center from 12:00pm to 5:00pm.  She will be speaking at the Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix, AZ on 10/16.

Robert Root will read from Landscapes with Figures and give a book signing for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Denver on 10/16.

David Starkey (Living Blue in the Red States) will be at the Santa Barbara Barnes and Noble on 10/18 for a reading and book signing.

Radio show host and author of Only a Game Bill Littlefield is reading from his book and signing copies at the Jabberwocky Book Shop in Newburyport, MA on 10/12.  He will be at Middlebury College on 10/15 for a book talk.

Allison Adelle Hedge Coke, poet and author of the memoir Rock, Ghost, Willow, Deer, will be at the Black Earth Institute in Madison, WI on10/11.

John Clayton will be reading from The Cowboy Girl at 7:00pm tomorrow, 10/11 at the Northwest College Writers Series in Powell, WY. 

Author John Christgau (The Gambler and the Bug Boy) will be at Belmont Library in Belmont, CA on 10/13, at 2:00pm for a reading and book signing.

Christopher R. Browning (The Origins of the Final Solution) will have an appearance with writer Nechama Tec at the University of Northern Iowa’s Holocaust Remembrance and Education Program at 6:00p, 10/17.

And Aaron Raz-Link, memoirist and co-author of the book What Becomes You has two events on the 10/16.  He will be at the School of Visual Arts for a signing and reading from 1:00pm- 2:00pm and at the NYC LGBT Center at 6:30pm for a signing and reading.
